Privacy Policy
Spamroot helps you find where your work contact details are exposed across third-party databases and handles removals and ongoing monitoring on your behalf. To do that, we necessarily handle some of your personal information. This policy describes that handling in plain language. It applies to our website and to the Spamroot application.

In plain language
This policy explains what information Spamroot collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect the account details you give us and the contact details you ask us to remove on your behalf, we use them to find and request removal of your exposure across B2B databases, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
We collect information in three broad ways: information you provide directly, information created as you use the service, and information from the providers that help us run it.
- Account information, such as your name, work email, and organization, used to create and secure your account.
- Contact details you ask us to act on, such as the work email and phone number you want us to find and remove.
- Usage information, such as the pages you visit and the actions you take in the app, used to operate and improve the service.
- Support information, such as the messages you send us and the context needed to help you.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide the service you signed up for and to keep it secure and reliable. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
- To scan for and identify where your contact details are exposed across third-party databases.
- To submit and track removal requests on your behalf, and to monitor for reappearance over time.
- To operate your account, process billing, and provide customer support.
- To protect the service against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to meet legal obligations.
The data you provide for removals
Removal is only possible if we know what to look for. When you ask us to reduce your exposure, you provide the specific contact details - typically a work email and phone number - that we search for across third-party databases and request removal of.
We treat these details as the sensitive operational data they are. We use them only to perform and monitor removals, we retain them only as long as needed to keep doing so, and we do not repurpose them for anything unrelated to your removals.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the service, including ongoing monitoring for reappearance. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
If you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. We honor these rights regardless of where you are, to the extent we can while still providing the service.
- Access and portability: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Objection and restriction: ask us to limit certain processing.
- To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@spamroot.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vetting of the providers we rely on. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to keep your information safe.
Our approach to security is described in more detail in our Security overview.
Children's privacy
Spamroot is a service for professionals and businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and how to reach us
We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at privacy@spamroot.com.
Still have questions?
